About Hunza:
After partition of Indian subcontinent into the separate states of India and Pakistan, Hidu Muharaja of Kahmir attempted to include Kashmir with Inida. Since Northern Areas (NAs) was also treated as part of Kashmir it was also going to become part of India. People of NAs revolted against it. With the collabortaion of Gilgit Scounts people of Nothernareas revolted against the Muharaja of Kashmir and liberated it. Soon after its independece this areas was announced to be affiliated with Pakistan. Todays NAs included six districts in three divisions. And the seventh district Hunza Nager district is announced by president of Pakistan Pervez Musharaf recently. The work process will be start with in 2008.

Subdivision Gilgit is capital of Norhternareas. It includes Ghizer and Gilgit Districts. The district includes Gilgit town, currently Hunza Nager is under control of District Gilgit, Will be separated after district Hunza Nager. It includes Naltar, Hunza, Gojal (Upper Hunza) and Shimshal. The NAs 1998 census gave its population as 243,324.
Administratively all these dirstricts are run by DCs, which came under the Chief Secretary based in Gilgit. The chief secretary controlled by KANA.
Hunza was a former princely state in the northernmost part of the NAs of Pakistan, which existed until 1974. The state bordered the Gilgit to the south, the Nager Valley to the east, China to the north and Afghanistan to the northwest. The state capital was the town of Baltit also known as Karimabad. The area of Hunza now forms the Aliabad and Gulmit Tehsil of Gilgit District.
